Candus has 25 years of experience in public accounting, global professional services firms, and corporate environments. She has deep expertise in technical accounting research and implementation, financial close and process diagnostics, derivatives and mark-to-market reporting, hedging activities, as well as SEC reporting and application. Candus understands the complexities of providing the right resources and implementing innovative solutions throughout any accounting and finance organization and is hands-on when working with her clients.

Prior to forming Arcus, Candus led Relationship Development at Alvarez & Marsal and was a Partner with AXIA Partners responsible for leading and managing the firm’s business development, operations and consulting functions.

Candus has led multiple mid-office and trade accounting/settlements teams during a corporate reorganization. She assesses the appropriateness of trading controls, mid-office and accounting close processes as well as level of talent within the organization. She identifies gaps and quickly implements effective solutions. Candus has also provided technical advice on complex topics including the assessment and implementation of ASC 606, 815, 820 and 842 among others.

As a Finance Manager for Shell Trading Gas & Power, Candus was responsible for the accounting and risk control functions in the New York trading office. She served as primary liaison between Senior Commercial Management and Finance/Operations. This included providing advice on Financial Structuring and Project Economics for Tolling Structures, Power Plant Purchases, Gas Supply Agreements, Gas Storage and Transportation, Asset Management, Energy Management, Full-Requirements
